As much as I should be thinking about healthier meals and ways to stick to my goals I can’t help but think of all the creative and tasty ways to make something sweet. It’s been a very busy week and I was looking to make something easy but nothing short of satisfying. That’s exactly how this pie is, easy to make and satisfying to the sweet tooth. This pie is layer after layer of goodness.
May I offer you a slice…
Let me break this pie down for you: first, we start off with a thick Oreo cookie crust. I like my crust a little on the thicker side, so I used an entire package of double stuffed Oreos. Regular Oreos can be used as well, and if you don’t like a ton of crust, I’d leave out about 10 cookies. Then we’re going to combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, some vanilla extract, and a container of cool whip to create a rich, delicious pie filling.
Once the pie filling is finished, it’s time for the star of this recipe: mini Snickers bars. This recipe calls for 35 mini Snickers pieces coarsely chopped. This way, each bite is filled with many pieces of chocolate, caramel, pea-nutty goodness. We’re going to fold in half of our chopped up candy pieces into the pie filling. Then once we pour the pie filling into the pie dish we’re going to sprinkle to remaining candy pieces on top of the pie.
And if that wasn’t enough (because it wasn’t)…
The final step is to drizzle fudge and caramel topping over the candy covered pie. Oh. My. Goodness!
After you’ve assembled this beauty, place it in the refrigerator for several hours before serving. This way, all the flavors have time to set and the pie will firm up slightly, making it easy to serve. I actually waited 24 hours before getting into this bad boy (don’t know how my boyfriend and I pulled that off) but it was well worth the wait.
